b'Making an Investment In Our EmployeesWe are blessed to have talented, loyal and caring employees, so we endeavor to recognize and reward them and provide opportunities for their growth. We simply cannot say enough aboutthe tenacity and resilience of our team. Industry-wide, approximately 25% ofclinical staff have left the field. However, Presbyterian Homes has been successful in both retaining and attracting people, allowing us to have the staff we need in most areas. Two shining stars among many are Yanick Jo Joseph, a Certified Nurse Assistant, and Maria Reyes, a Housekeeper, both at Westminster Place. With 46 years(!) on the job, Jo senses the gratitude that we try so hard to convey, saying, I reallyappreciate the way Presbyterian Homes upgraded its employee appreciation events. I can tell that the people who coordinate the events put a lot of thought in each event. I really like how Nurses Week is inclusive of the entire nursing department. With an equally impressive 43 years(!) tenure, Maria Reyes recognizes the respectwe have for her insights, saying, I appreciate that the organization is responsiveto feedback and acts when ideas are suggested. I appreciate working for anorganization where I feel comfortable speaking out and expressing how Imfeeling about something. The level of talent and commitment we enjoy from our team does not happen by accident, and we are taking steps to ensure that we continue and build on this strength in the future. We launched a formal succession planning effort nearlytwo years ago. Miriam Wallace, Vice President of Human Resources, describedit as a strategic intent to identify leaders and explained that we established amethodology to consistently identify high-potential employees. Using a well-known leadership assessment along with competency assessments, a Leadership Development Plan is identified for each high-potential employee. Our succession planning began with c-suite positions and will extend to vice president, director and manager levels next and ultimately to supervisory positions as well.
