b'Enhancing Communication with TechnologyTechnology is often perceived as both a blessing and a curse; we have found ways to reap benefits from technology and minimize related challenges. Presbyterian Homes has long had internalTV channels. During the pandemic, we learned to use this medium in more and better ways, and we continue to expand on this opportunity. For example, Lake Forest Place has launched its own live daytime talk show hosted by CookieErickson, Program Specialist at Lake Forest Place. During this broadcast, Cookie is joined by staff and resident co-hosts. New staff members might introducethemselves or Dining Services might offer a cooking demonstration and thenshare newsy updates. Resident co-hosts might share an interesting hobby or recount a recent travel experience. A member of the Social Committee might share details of an upcoming event so that everyone can participate in the fun. At every campus, there is increased use of the online resident portal to see menus, make reservations, create maintenance tickets, track packages, schedule deliveries and easily complete so many other tasks. Residents also continue to increase their skills, often originally developed during the pandemic, to email, text and participate in virtual meetings. Those virtual meetings have even opened opportunities for snow-birder residents, who are not with us year-round, to still participate in the important work of the Resident Advisory Council. A kind, anonymous donorfinanced an upgrade ($68,204) to the audio-visual systems in the Vail Room and the Chapel at Lake Forest Place. While there is ongoing work to fully integrateold and new components, the end result will be a better experience for all residents who enjoy virtual programs and services. With increased use of technology come inevitable challenges. A new Resident Technology Support staff position was created to address these obstacles. Thisstaff position replaces the previous assistance available in the resource center, with the added benefit of being able to enter residents homes. Serving all three campuses, this staff member is available for a very small fee to help residentsinstall a new printer, set up a new email account or untangle any number oftechnology-related issues.PRESBYTERIAN HOMES & GENEVA FOUNDATION 2022 ANNUAL REPORT9'
