b'Westminster Place is proud to partner with the Mayors SummerYouth Employment Program in Evanston, IL.After participating in a job fair, Westminster Place had the pleasure of hiring three interns for Summer 2023: Ulises Miranda, Sales and Marketing; Aiden Mosser, IT; and Alexandra Ale Palacios, Healthcare. Westminster Place is firmly entrenched in Evanston, with 30% of its residents from the city and over 100 of its employees residing there. We even have occasional legacy staff members whoseparents or grandparents previously worked at Westminster Place. The mayors program is another way we hope to maintain this strong connection to the community.Creative Endeavors Exhibit The Moorings As a fairly new resident at The Moorings, George Blanasrecognized two things: Creativity is not limited by age, andsome people might be very creative but have no outlet to be seen and heard. In response, George was instrumental in organizing a semiannual juried exhibit, Creative Endeavors. Staff and residents are invited to share pieces in many categories: crafts of all types (for example, jewelry and photography) paintings, drawings, and so on.As George so aptly explains,Creativity is alive and doing well. People can learn at any age and are willing to share what they Mayors Summer Youth Employment Program personally can do with others.
