August 2023 marked a huge milestone for Lake Forest Place – the celebration of 25 years of serving seniors at the community. And for residents, it’s a celebration of creating the retirement of their dreams. Lake Forest Place is currently home to more than 400 seniors and has served hundreds more over the past 25 years.

To commemorate the very special occasion, a lovely gala event was held featuring music from Petra van Nuis and her band. A grand ice sculpture with a seafood buffet served as a centerpiece for the gala’s decor. Lake Forest Place is known for its beautiful and impressive events and delicious dining, which the residents thoroughly enjoyed.

A program featured remarks from local dignitaries and community leaders, including Lake Forest Place Executive Director Leslie Green; Presbyterian Homes CEO Nadim Abi-Antoun; Marsha Oberrieder, President, Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital; Chad Ruback, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Rosalind Franklin University; Jill Baren, President of Lake Forest College; and Tony Rizzato, Administrator of Community Life, Lake Forest Place.

“This anniversary experience has been amazing; it’s just blown up. This celebration and achievement are truly a testament to just how much our team members care, how wonderful the residents are, and how much of an impact our community holds. It’s extraordinary.”
– Leslie Green, Lake Forest Place Executive Director

Perhaps the most special part of all was the recognition of 26 “Pioneer” residents. These residents, two of whom are 103 years old, have been members of the community since its inception in 1998. Calvine Bowen, pictured right, served as the representative Pioneer and spoke about her experience at Lake Forest Place.

Along with many residents, former board members also attended the event, including Byram Dickes, Edward and Jeanne James, Neele and Bonnie Stearns, Jim and Cynthia Pinkerton (Lake Forest Place residents), Milt and Joan Weinberg (Lake Forest Place residents), and Earl Frederick (Lake Forest Place resident).

“It’s such an honor to be Presbyterian Homes’ President and CEO during this time. I couldn’t be prouder to be part of this community and witness everything our teams have worked so hard to accomplish.”
– Nadim Abi-Antoun, Presbyterian Homes CEO

The future is bright for Lake Forest Place. Cheers to 25 more years!
