Medical Services

A full-time medical director, who is a board-certified internist with extensive training in geriatrics, leads health services. He makes an important contribution to the delivery of care on all our campuses.

Professional Nursing Team

Our professional nursing staff is specialized in the care of older adults. Registered nurses are on duty on each floor, 24 hours a day. These nurses lead an interdisciplinary team in delivering resident care, which may include medication, rehabilitation, and nutrition.

Rehabilitation

Presbyterian Homes offers one of the most progressive rehabilitation programs for older adults in the area. Everything in this program promotes independence. Residents who enter a rehabilitation program may be recovering from a stroke, heart attack, or orthopedic surgery. Immediately, the team develops a comprehensive rehabilitation plan that includes physical, occupational and speech therapy, plus restorative nursing.

Restorative Nursing

A rehabilitation nurse leads this program, working with a team to address the specific restorative needs of residents. A nursing assistant works daily with the resident to continue exercises and strengthening techniques.

Supportive Services

Full-time social workers and chaplains are available for social, emotional and spiritual support.

Activities Therapists

Activities therapists engae residents in a range of activities and therapies, including

  • music therapy with live music and interactive movement
  • pet therapy, wiht visits form a range of quiet and loveable creatures
  • arts and crafts ativities, from painting and needlework projects to work with clay
  • games to provide intellectual stimulation, encourage socialization and conversation, and evaluate memory

Additional Services

All campuses offer respite services, which is short-term care to provide relief to families from the demands of caregiving, as well as home health and hospice services.
