Nursing and Alzheimer's Care at Balmoral Care Center

Never retire your spirit.

The Balmoral Care Center is home to those who need short- or long-term care. For some, it's a short stay while they rehabilitate following hospitalization. For others, it's a decision to live here as a permanent resident because they need round-the-clock assistance, medical attention or security. All skilled nursing and rehabilitation services are Medicare-approved.

Residents of neighboring communities as well as residents of Presbyterian Homes can benefit from the services of the Balmoral Care Center. We offer Exceptional Professional Care, whether it is provided by physicians, nurses, rehabilitation therapists, social workers, chaplains or activities therapists.

More importantly Presbyterian Homes, and the Balmoral Care Center, has embraced a philosophy of interacting with residents called Person-Centered Care. We agree to honor the choices, preferences and abilities of all residents, whether in an apartment or in our health care community.

The Balmoral Care Center is designed to look and feel like home, since each resident enjoys a private room. The sun-filled rooms overlook our beautiful campus, flowering terraces and gardens. Dining areas are gracious and inviting.

Memory Care

The Balmoral Care Center has one of the most innovative, patient-centered programs in the country. An entire floor was specially designed to enhance the quality of life for residents with memory loss. All rooms are private.

A special sensory garden is a unique environment that is safe for residents to explore. Music, games, movies, and off-campus trips keep residents engaged and motivated.

Supportive Services

A social worker meets residents at the Balmoral Care Center to provide emotional and social support during the transition and throughout their stay. Social services are available to families as well as residents.

Activities Therapists

Activities therapists engage residents in a range of activities and therapies, including:

  • music therapy with live music and interactive movement
  • pet therapy, with visits from a range of quiet and loveable creatures
  • arts and crafts activities, from painting and needlework projects to work with clay
  • games to provide intellectual stimulation, encourage socialization and conversation, and evaluate memory
