Neighborhood Homes in Chicago

Presbyterian Homes offers three communities on Chicago's north side -- two in the Lakeview neighborhood and the newest in West Rogers Park -- that comprise the Neighborhood Homes Program. This is a far-reaching, benevolent initiative of the Geneva Foundation to enable seniors to stay in their neighborhoods and to live in a community with other older adults who care for and support each other.

At Lake View Place and Crowder Place, 80 low-income older adults live independently in a vibrant urban setting. Devon Place now serves about 50 seniors in West Rogers Park since its opening in 2009. The participants pay modest, subsidized rents for their safe and well-equipped apartments. Many of these residents have lived and worked in their neighborhood for years, and this program allows them to stay connected with their friends and familiar surroundings.

Each building is close to public transportation, doctors' offices and shopping. Leases are written for one year, with rent charged on a sliding scale, based on income. For more information about our Neighborhood Homes Program, please call 773-477-4160.
